M. Joan MacKinnon has combined two of her interests in this history of the Gananoque Horticultural Society. A long time genealogist, she has been gardening since she was in her twenties. She has written books and articles on a wide range of topics, including Kingston and Toronto cabinetmakers and her own MacKinnon family history. After moving to Gananoque in 2010, she became involved in the Gananoque Horticultural Society, and began learning about the people who created it, forming the vibrant organization of today.
The history of the Gananoque Horticultural Society is integral to the story of the town itself. The involvement of many local citizens over the last century has been highlighted throughout this book. Approximately 250 black and white illustrations and 4 pages of colour photos have been included.
